Individualized coaching sessions focusing on increasing success through organization; planning ahead; building a communication bridge between parent, child and school; accountability; and creating space to dream.
How Do Sessions Work?
Through an individualized approach, at-home sessions are typically 1 hour long and are structured to include prioritization exercises, homework completion, study skills, essay outlining and writing, and general organization.
As needed, Sarah communicates with classroom teachers to organize wrap around support and clear lines of communication between home and school.
What is Executive Function?
Executive function and self-regulation skills are the mental processes that enable us to plan, focus attention, remember instructions, and juggle multiple tasks successfully. Just as an air traffic control system at a busy airport safely manages the arrivals and departures of many aircraft on multiple runways, the brain needs this skill set to filter distractions, prioritize tasks, set and achieve goals, and control impulses. These skills are crucial for learning and development. - The Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University
